I don’t really get why archive.org isn’t making use of the BitTorrent protocol. I guess it would work pretty well with their content and with their servers being sooooo slow all the time it would be a real boon. Is there a reason why they don’t do it?

das klingt wirklich nach ´ner vernünftigen idee.
also FreeCache ist wohl ne gute sache aber anscheinend nutzt das kaum einer, jedenfalls merkt man geschwindigkeits seitig nichts davon. man könnte doch auch beide möglichkeiten parallel anbieten, oder gäb´s da technische einwände?
hast du denn schonmal nachgefragt bei den jungs in sf? ich als “archive.org poweruser” (up und downstream) fänd das natürlich ´ne super ergänzung.
