Rob Braun explains the history of Apple’s Open Source efforts which is a sad and disappointing development. With the advent of the Intel Macs, Apple stopped distributing it’s Core OS “Darwin” to the public essentially returning OSX to complete closed-source project.

Ja ist unklar. Unter http://www.opensource.apple.com/darwinsource/ gibt es tatsächlich ein 10.4.5 für x86 und ppc. I am confused as well.

Ne das stimmt schon. Es gibt zwar eine X86 Distribution, aber sie enthält den Kernel (Modul xnu) nicht mehr.
